The Color Phenom

Walking out from the parking lot to the beach one I witnessed a very red/pink sky. Mostly reflected off clouds, I wonder how this happens? The sun below the horizon light rays pass through the earth’s atmosphere which might be full of dust and smoke. This, in turn, scatters out blue light and casts a reddish pink color into the sky. The viewer stands underneath these rays of warm colors and sees this as a result. This signifies a high pressure system in the eastern sky.

The puple pink color in the wave’s pocket is the light behind the wall of water. Causing the image to be upside down thus the yellow is on top. Since typically a wave breaking happens far from shore but at Aliso Beach waves break near the shore. Hence the term “shore break” Which is what happens at Aliso Beach south of Laguna Beach Ca.

Inspires

After awhile, it got too dark to see and after snapping a few more pictures it was time to start up the car and leave. A stop at a nice place to eat was in order for an end of a nice day after witnessing this sunset was in order.
